John 8:12

When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

Lord God, it is Your Light that brings me peace and joy in abundance. As I travel in a dark world, as darkness surrounds me, I can clearly see the path You lay before me. When I do not know what to do, I keep my eyes upon You.

I know that through all the valleys I must travel, You are always with me; You never let go. It is Your promises that assure me that You will show me the way in which I am to walk and that You will keep Your eye upon me.

What great joy I have in knowing that as I follow after Jesus, I will never walk in darkness. I find strength in knowing that You have promised never to leave me nor forsake me. I know that no matter where I am, You are with me—You are my Protector, My Shield, My awesome God!

In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
