The Lord said to Samuel

1 Samuel 16:7 NIV)
...the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."

Loving Father, what great joy I have in just knowing You. As so many people struggle to find their way in a dark world, I have overwhelming peace through Your amazing grace. I thank You for Jesus, who has covered my sin, and I thank You for seeing me as worthy to follow Him.


What great love You show, that You do not see my sin, but You see the blood of Jesus that covers it all. I thank You Lord that You do not see me as I am, but that You see me as I can be—a vessel for Your purposes.

I know that I can never be perfect, but I can follow my perfect Christ and He will lead me in the way I need to go. When I stumble and fall, I know that He will be there to pick me up and get me back on track. I thank You for my dearest friend, My Savior, My Jesus.
